Summary
We are trying to find different ways to help pupils evaluate and improve on their learning. Isn't the jotter so 20th Century???? Here S/3 musical compositions are videod for looking at with a critical eye by pupils.

This clip shows our creative pupils at work in Music inventing their own compositions.
Each group were given different criteria to base their composition on eg one group were given the pitch another rhythms and another group were given musical terms - eg - sequence, imitation etc - the rest of the inventing was completely down to them. They had two lessons in which to create a piece. This material was used for class assessment and for giving feedback as well as keeping the clips for the modelling of good practice.
